Medical Emergency Plan for the Olympics: Key Details
As the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics draw closer, a comprehensive medical emergency plan has been established to ensure the safety and health of athletes and visitors. Central to this initiative is the integration of a dedicated Olympic hospital that will connect facilities in Milan (Niguarda) and Sondalo. The plan includes three major polyclinics, eighteen medical stations, fifteen basic emergency response vehicles, and three helicopters. A team of 70 doctors, 90 nurses, and 230 rescue personnel will be on standby, alongside 70 medical controllers to oversee operations.
This extensive network aims to provide immediate medical assistance and ensure the well-being of all attendees during the Olympic events.
