Students Enjoy Smartphone-Free Winter Retreat in the Mountains
A total of 101 students from the local comprehensive school in Ponte Lambro embarked on a winter holiday in the mountains, accompanied by 11 teachers. During this trip, the use of smartphones was prohibited, encouraging students to connect with one another in more meaningful ways.
The focus of the trip was not only to enjoy the snow but also to foster teamwork, communication, and social skills among the young participants. By eliminating mobile devices, the students had the opportunity to engage in activities together and strengthen friendships that may have been neglected in the digital age.
This initiative has sparked interest among educators, as it highlights the benefits of reducing screen time and promoting face-to-face interactions. The students returned from the experience with positive feedback, having learned valuable lessons about collaboration and community.
Such programs are increasingly seen as effective ways to enhance the educational experience beyond traditional classroom settings, particularly in a picturesque area like Lake Como.
